Also known as the cave of stories or the cave of legends, the limestone caves of Gua Cerita are easily accessible by hiring a boat from Tanjung Rhu. A boat ride takes you through the spectacular rock formations, where ancient Arabic wall inscriptions can still be seen. It is also believed that Langkawi’s pirates used the caves to stock the contraband and as hideaways.
